The weather, well it’s still frightful, but that doesn’t mean the outfits can’t still be delightful. It’s time to do-away with the notion that winter gear should prioritize function over form. Your coats don’t have to be utilitarian, or make you feel like you are a toddler who was dressed for a day in the snow by an overbearing mother. They don’t have to make you feel like the stay puft marshmallow man (looking at you, big puffer coats). If done right, wearing these winter accessories will make you not only feel ready to take on the cold, but also continue to look your best.
Warm up with these accessories: The Winter Head Band
Whether you are going out, walking down the streets, going for a jog, going to work, or just getting your morning coffee, the headband is one of the chicest ways to elevate an outfit in the winter while prioritizing keeping your ears nice and toasty.
An added bonus is that if you are worried about hat hair, or just don’t like the way beanies/classic winter hats look on you, the headband classes things up without taking as much away from the look. There are enough variations out there to suit any needs.
For a jog, a walk, or any outdoor athletic (ish) activity- Try this Lululemon ear warmer
Or this Alo version
For a sweater-weather outfit- Here’s The North Face’s Cable Knit version
A pop of color never hurt anybody- A bright blue Artizia version
Warm up with these accessories: The Fur Coat
It’s 2025 and (faux or pre-owned) fur coats are so far from new that it seems redundant to even have it on this list. But vintage fur is making appearances all over the media and the streets, so it’s worth a mention.
This accessory changes the entire vibe of the outfit, effortlessly elevating even the most simple items. Baggy jeans and a black long sleeve? Throw on a fur coat and you look beyond put together. Bonus points for a long fur coat, as it keeps you extra warm.
Since sustainability is important year-round, a couple recommendations are to go to your nearest thrift store, peruse depop, the real real, ebay, beyondretro, or even etsy.

Warm up with these accessories: On that note… Special Mentions:
This is not a comprehensive list. There are so many amazing items to keep you from freezing, including pea coats, parkas, beanies, gloves, and more. So, here is some more inspiration taken from the classic items we all associate with the dropping temperatures.
This Revolve Belted Jacket

This Pair of Cashmere Gloves (I personally have these and recommend)

Free People Knit Hat

Aran Chunky Cable Knit Scarf
Winter accessories don’t have to be boring and they don;t have to make you feel like a bulky, shapeless person with no sense of style. They can MAKE the outfit, if you know where to look.
